Active lobbying campaign in Lomé

Since the beginning of the week, the three candidate cities for 2018 Olympic Winter Games have put on their charms to convince the African Olympic Committee members present at Lomé on the occasion of their General Assembly.

Munich (Germany), Pyeongchang (South Korea) and Annecy (France) have an imperative need of African voices, why the official delegations made the trip from Togo.

"Germany is a reference in organizing the Winter Olympics and the concept of 2018 happens to be a continuation of what had been done," said Monday Katarina Witt, double Olympic champion and four- World figure skating, and Chairperson of nomination of Munich.

For Charles Beigbeder (photo), Chairman of the Annecy 2018, "Annecy wishes to share his extraordinary mountains, its hospitality and passion for the sport."

The Korean side, we put forward the candidacy of Pyeongchang as a driving force to develop winter sports in Asia. "Korea has a long experience in hosting major international events," said Yang Ho Cho, the Chairman of the Bid Committee.

The fate of the cities will be determined on July 6 in Durban.
