After Benin, Togo ?

The official News Agency of Kosovo revealed, in early July, the holding of informal contacts in Paris between the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli (photo), and "seniors" in Togo. An information that was confirmed with the visit to Lomé midweek by M. Pacolli who was welcomed by President Faure Gnassingbé.

The purpose of travel, to convince Togo to recognize Kosovo.

The Kosovar official announced the favorable opinion of the Court of International Justice to his interlocutors, which considers that the country fully complies with international legality, which Serbia is challenging.

Kosovo is currently recognized by 80 countries, but is not a member of the United Nations.

For now, there is no question of official recognition by Lomé, but simply a contact to develop economic relations.

Note that Benin has recognized Kosovo on 18 August.
