The Togolese Minister of Economy and Finance, Adji Otteh Ayassor (photo), arrived in Washington on Tuesday to attend the IMF and World Bank Spring Assembly. He will be joined today by Dédé Ahoefa Ekoué, Minister of Planning & Development.
The highlight of this gathering was the meetings of the Development Committee, Joint Forum of the World Bank and IMF, and the International Monetary and Financial Committee of the IMF, who made an update on the activities of these two institutions.
This event also included seminars, briefings on world regions and many other sessions on the global economy, international development and international capital markets.
The Togolese delegation will be having, on the sidelines of the Assembly, separate meetings with officials from the IMF and the World Bank in charge of Togo.
Both these institutions canceled almost all the country's external debt last year.
