After Black Monday, a Black Tuesday looms on the horizon for internet in Togo. The submarine cable SAT-3 which provides the bandwidth to Togo Telecom, via Benin and Ivory Coast, is stranded again.
A technical incident was found Sunday night, at a hundred miles from the coast of Benin. Connections were returned to Togo on Monday night for a few hours.
According to the operator of fiber optic cable, the repair can take time because it is buried deep in the ocean.
The Togolese are not the only ones affected; Ivorians, Beninese, Ghanaians, Nigerians and Cameroonians in particular, are in the same situation.
Besides internet, international telephone calls are also experiencing problems.
