The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Thursday voiced its appreciation of West African nation Togo's stance on territorial disputes in the South China Sea. An official bulletin issued by Togo's government called for the resolution of the issues through direct dialogue and negotiation between relevant countries.
Togo's relevant positions are in line with the realities of the South China Sea issue.
They are also in line with the bilateral and multilateral consensus reached between China and relevant countries to resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation. They are consistent with international laws and common international practice, and they reflect the fair and just attitude held by the international community on relevant issues," Hong Lei said.
