The Minister for Planning and Development, Dédé Ahoefa Ekoué (photo) is expected to be in Istanbul, on Saturday, where she will attend the 4th UN Conference on Least Developed Countries, from May 9 to 13.
Two cases will, in particular, be addressed, that of evaluating the results of the Action Plan for LDCs adopted at the Third LDC Conference in Brussels and the adoption of new measures and strategies for sustainable development in LDCs for the next decade.
The LDCs, today being 48 countries, including Togo, considered by the UN as "the poorest segment and the lowest of the international community" and whose economic and social development pose major challenges for themselves and development partners.
