The swearing-in ceremony of the Ivorian president Alassane Dramane Ouattara, is shaping up at Yamoussoukro on Saturday. The authorities did not skimp on how to give an added spotlight to the event which marks the rebirth of Ivory Coast after a descent into hell for nearly a decade.
VIPs are required to rush through the Ivorian political capital.The event awaits the president of Togo, Faure Gnassingbé, his counterparts in the sub-region, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and U.S. Secretary of State for African Affairs, Johnnie Carson, among others.
The Togolese head of state will be spending the day in Yamoussoukro. After the swearing-in ceremony, an official lunch will be served, followed by face to face interviews.
