In-depth reform of administration

The Council of Ministers decided on Friday to initiate an in-depth reform of the administration. A draft bill was presented in this effect. The long socio-political crisis experienced by Togo has considerably weakened the bureaucracy, said the final press-release.

Objective: modernize and professionalize the government.

Members of government also discussed the tension at the University of Lomé and "condemned acts of violence organized by some students (...) while the meeting of June 6, 2011 between the university authorities, students and representatives of the government has reached accord (...).

The press-release of the Council stressed that the technical discussions for the implementation of measures resulting from this agreement, however, are under way for a final resolution to the crisis.
