The meeting will be opened by President Faure Gnassingbé in the presence of a line of African personalities including former presidents of Burundi, Nigeria and Ghana (Pierre Buyoya, President Olusegun Obasanjo and Jerry Rawlings), Moustapha Niasse, former Prime Minister of Senegal, Soumaïla Cissé, President of the WAEMU Soumaïla Cissé Commission and Youssouf Ouedraogo, a former foreign minister and special adviser to the President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré.
Various subjects dealing with integration will be discussed including the free movement of persons and property, monetary integration, the role of the private sector and the responsibility of the African Diaspora in the process of integration.
