 Kpatcha caught by the DEA

The trial of Kpatcha Gnassingbé should start in a few days in Lomé. The former Minister, and MP, is accused of endangering the security of the State, in the clear for organizing a takeover in 2008.

This case may hide another. As stated by the website of specialized information "Sahel Intelligence" who understands that the U.S. DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration, the Agency for fight against drugs) at that time could raise an old issue, that of a drug trafficking organized under Kpatcha.

According to this site, he had offered protection to traffickers when he was officiated as the Minister of defense.

"According to informed sources in Washington, Americans are considering the reactivation of files held by the federal anti-drug agency to take advantage of the trial in Togo to communicate their determination to fight against drug trafficking," stated "Sahel Intelligence".
