In an interview published last Friday on Republicoftogo.com, the president of the National Independent Electoral Commission, Angèle Aguigah (photo), clearly indicated that legislative and local polls will not happen at the same time. However, no date has been officially announced yet.
The Electoral Commission must first complete the census process, and verify that the electoral lists do not contain errors before convoking the electorate.
According to Mrs Aguigah, these elections will cost 10 billions CFA francs.
