Road race to be organized to mark World Youth Day in Togo

Togo's National Youth Council (NYC) will collaborate with the country's Athletics Federation (FTA) to organize a road race on August 19 to mark the World Youth Day which is always celebrated on August 12 of each year, a source from NYC said on Monday.

The objective of the road race which will be open to youths below the age of 30 years, is to bring together young people in order to reinforce the message of peace this year.

About 1,000 youths will take part in the event during which values of patriotism and sporting culture will be promoted.
