Tropical climate for the Winter Olympics

The Executive Committee of the Association of African National Olympic Committees (ANOCA), began on Sunday in Lomé with a special emphasis on the agenda. Tomorrow, representatives of the various committees will be welcoming representatives of the three candidate cities to host the Winter Olympics in 2018. An intense lobbying campaign is underway to get the votes of Africa.

The three candidates were sent to Togo to impress the delegations.

Munich (Germany), has Katarina Witt as its ambassador, double Olympic and quadruple world champion in figure skating, and Chairman of the Bid Committee. 

Pyeongchang (South Korea) has as its envoy Cho Yang-ho, Chairman of the Nomination Committee, Park Yong-sung, head of the South Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) and Kim Yu-na, gold medalist in figure skating. 

Finally, Annecy (France) is represented by President Charles Beigbeder for Annecy 2018 and Jean-Pierre Vidal, Slalom Olympic champion (2002) and Vice President of Annecy 2018.
