Togo's Ambassador to the United States, Limbiyè Kadangha Bariki, was Tuesday's guest of the Mayor of Washington (District of Columbia), Vincent C. Gray (photo), as a special speaker for a meeting with the Committee of African Affairs.
The occasion for the diplomat recalled the strong ties that unite the United States and Togo.
Mr. Bariki congratulated, on behalf of the President Faure Gnassingbe the new Mayor of the federal capital who took charge of office earlier this year.
In his speech, the ambassador wished to establish a twinning arrangement between the city of Lomé and Washington, he invited Vincent C. Gray and U.S. businessmen to travel to Togo, to seal the union between the two cities.
