Togo can count on support from the World Bank. It's essentially the message delivered by Herve Assah,World Bank representative in Togo, on Friday. The WB will be there to help the government improve economic governance and to enable it to boost growth and fight against poverty.
The next two years should enable Togo, with the assistance of the WB, to strengthen the actions underway, including the economic recovery program, funding for infrastructure, flood prevention, reformation of the financial sector and phosphate sector and financing the Development Goals of the Millennium. This should be supplemented by initiatives to enable businesses to be more competitive and other incentives for the development of public-private partnerships(PPP).
Its been less than a week, since the World Bank granted $41 million in Lomé as two donations.
