500 million in favor of disadvantaged areas

The Togolese Government has undertaken the modernization of the most insalubrious areas of the capital by rehabilitating existing structures and installing a sewerage system.

It is in this context that Victoire Tomegah Dogbe, the minister of Grassroots Development, signed on Tuesday a financing agreement of 500 million CFA francs with two Chinese companies.

The CACC and the WEIETC will build 11 schools and Youth Centers.

Launched in August 2012, the “Community Development Project in Lome vulnerable neighborhoods” involves 75 areas out of the 145 that the capital accounts. The goal is to improve not only the living conditions, but also to promote youth and women employment.

The estimated budget amounts to 5 billion CFA francs.
