President Faure Gnassingbé sent a congratulatory message, on Tuesday, to his counterpart Barack Obama to mark the 235th anniversary of independence of the United States.
"I am delighted with the quality of traditional friendly relations between the United States and Togo, and I want to express the gratitude of the Togolese government for the ongoing and multifaceted support that your country gives Togo as part of its efforts to development, " wrote Mr. Gnassingbé.
The Togolese President also praised the "critical" role played by the United States for peacekeeping in Africa and the world.
