Seminar on election petitions holds in Lomé

A seminar on the processes of election petition opens here Monday with the heads and members of Constitutional Courts and Councils from five West African countries.

The five-day seminar will be organized by the Togolese Constitutional Court, with support from the International Francophone Organisation (OIF).Participants, who will come from Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali and Togo, will share experiences and listen to experts on election petition.

The seminar is aimed at teaching participants how to handle election petitions a nd the establishment of structures for resolving petitions arising from disputed election results in the sub-region.
