Abiratou Bonfoh (photo) the head of a brokerage company based in Lomé and in Kinshasa will launch the Chamber of Commerce Togo-DRC, mid-June. Togolese ministers and traders are expected in the Congolese capital to give the official kickoff, in mid June.
Economic exchanges between the two countries are still limited, yet there is a strong demand, says Ms. Bonfoh. Kinshasa's traders eying West Africa could benefit from the commercial hub that is Lomé; about the Togolese companies, they may benefit from the vast Congolese market or at least from that of Kinshasa.
In recent months, the two African capitals have an asset size with direct flights provided by the company Asky, based in Lomé, and the carrier also has a freight business between Togo and the DRC.
All conditions are met to boost trade, says Abiratou Bonfoh.
