Togo dethrone Nigeria

Togo defeated the Super Eagles 3-2 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Nigeria's Ogun State on Saturday and won the West African Football Union Cup (WAFU Cup).

Togo's Atakora Lalawele gave his team a lead in the 3rd minute, while Wome Sename Dove increased the tally in the 22nd minute.

Super Eagles' Bartholomew Ibenegbu reduced the goal tally in the 26th minute and later equaled the score in the 45th minute.

Togo got another goal to put them back in the lead in the 47th minute of added time of the first half.

Liberia beat Ghana 3-1 to clinch the bronze medal.

Togolese coach, Tchanila Tchakala said that his team played to instruction to secure the trophy.

Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State presented the trophy to the winning team while the NFF Chairman, Aminu Maigari presented medals
