The Grand Hotel in Kinshasa welcomed VIPs to the official launch of the Chamber of Commerce Togo-DRC, on Tuesday.
Created at the initiative of Abiratou Bonfoh (photo), head of a brokerage company in Lomé, the Chamber wants a natural bridge to boost business.
Trade between the two countries is still weak, but there is a strong potential, says Ms. Bonfoh.
Kinshasa traders are eyeing West Africa and could benefit from the commercial hub that is Lomé, as for businesses in Togo, the vast market of Kinshasa cannot be overlooked.
There are assets. In recent months, both cities have been connected by three weekly flights operated by the company Asky, transporting passengers and freight.
