Togolese Gendarmerie are on the trail of criminals who have been spreading terror in the prefectures of Lakes and Vo, following the killing of six persons between Saturday and Sunday last week.
According to Capt. Kokou Paka, Commander of the Gendarmerie Brigade of the Maritime Region, the killers cut off the heads of their victims and drained their blood.The six victims include two women, with one aged 63, three men and a 12-year-old boy, who was returning home from the farm with his mother and his younger brother.
In a statement issued Monday, the Gendarmerie asked anyone with information to come forward as inquiry opens into the killings.
Security has been tightened in the region, and a search organised to catch the criminals.
The killing marked the first time such crimes were committed in the south-eastern Lome area.
