Togolese Prime Minister, Yawovi Agboyibo at the head of a governmental delegation arrived Monday in Ouagadougou for a brief friendly and work visit.
"It's a friendly visit I paid on behalf Togolese Head of State and on my own behalf to greet Blaise Compaore and thank him for all he has done for my country, the material and time he devoted to the search of solutions to our problems," Agboyibo said.He called on President Compaore to continue his role of facilitator in order to support the Togolese people.
"We all acknowledge in Togo that your support has been extremely decisive for the peace our country has finally achieved," Agboyibo added.
Concerning the upcoming 14 October 2007 legislative elections, Agboyibo expressed optimism and very satisfied over the level of preparations for the polls".
President Compaore held talks with Agboyibo who was expected to return home Monday night.
Agboyibo's delegation came barely 72 hours after the 8th session of the Committee for the follow-up of the Togolese Global Political Agreement (GPA) signed in Ouagadougou.
