Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel and Maranatha de Lomé drew 0-0 in the African champions' League qualifying rounds first leg match on Sunday in Womé, some 135 km north-east of Lome.
Both clubs, after trying to avoid surprises in the return leg, did not manage to score a single goal in a highly thrilling tie with an acceptable technical level, involving professional players.Togo's champion holder, Maranatha, which ousted Jaraaf de Dakar (Senegal) and later APR of Rwanda, have failed to secure an advantage at home against the mighty Etoile du Sahel, a Tunisian side that have shown a great football.
The return leg is expected to be tough for the Togolese club, the country's only team to reach this level of the continental tournament for about ten years.
