Togo's national football squad manager, Frenchman Henri Stambouli, has resigned, citing the non-payment of his salary and difficulties encountered in the course of his duties.
Stambouli, who is currently in France, has notified the Togolese Football Association of his decision, the sources noted.The French coach declared on Sport FM that he had not been paid his salary since assumption of office 28 May.
The Togolese Football Association is plagued by leadership tussle.
Stambouli's resignation comes on the eve of the fifth round of the joint 2010 Af rica Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers involving Togo, currently lying third (t hree points) in their group.
The team will travel to Lusaka to face Zambia (four points) 10 September in Lusa ka.
Togo won the first-leg match 1-0.
