There is a workshop underway in Lome (Togo) to assess the progress achieved so far in various African countries on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the UNDP said here Wednesday.
Some 100 participants 23 African countries will review the progress on the implementation of MDG-based development strategies, identify technical and methodical difficulties, as well as decide on the next steps to take in implementing these goals.Senegalese economist, Bouna Sémou Diouf, head of the Tokyo International Conference on Africa's Development (TICAD) Bureau and UNDP deputy administrator for Africa, chairs the 11-13 April workshop.
