The Saudi Ministry of Interior warned all citizens and expatriates to remain cautious about some people who pretend to represent charities abroad, a disguise intended to solicit money for their own pockets.
In a statement, the Ministry said prominent personalities and businessmen have received messages from a disguised charity in Togo sealed by forged signatures and stamps of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, urging for financial help.In its message, the so-called Islamic Philanthropic Commission Association in Kpalime claims that Prince Naif is its honorary President and urges for donations to implement illusive charity programs abroad, the Ministry's statement said.
The statement added that the Charity's Chairman is called Mohammed Zakaria Ibrahim, a Togese, and its representative in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is called Is-haq Qasem, also from Togo.
The Ministry asserted that there is nothing in reality regarding this organization, neither in Saudi Arabia nor in Togo. So, citizens and expatriates are advised not to indulge in any activity or lose their money in false behavior, the statement said adding that the best for all is to send their donations through proper channels.
