President Faure Gnassingbe has appointed Adji Oteh Ayassor as Togo's new minister of Budget, Finance and Privatisation.
Ayassor, a university professor and former secretary-general of the presidential offices, replaces Payadowa Boukpessi, who has been in government since 1991.Boukpessi, one of the close aides of Gnassingbe's late father, President Gnassingbe Eyadema, was described in the local press as a "powerful minister", who headed several ministries since 1991.
