The West African Bank for Development (WABD) Wednesday grant ed two loans totalling 6.912 billion FCFA to Togo to enable it finance road proj e cts and a programme known as emergency support to food safety (PUASA).
According to a press statement received by PANA here, the first loan, amounting to 5.250 billion FCFA, will be used for the installation and asphalting of the D a paong-Ponio road on the Border with Burkina Faso to open up the north-eastern pa r t of Togo as well as facilitate the socio-economic exchanges on both national an d sub-regional levels.The second loan, worth 1.662 FCFA, is intended to stamp out food insecurity-rela ted problems in that west African country.
The agreement for the loans were signed on behalf of Togo by the Minister in cha rge of Economy and Finance, Adji Otheth Ayassor, and the WABD chairman, Abdoulay e Bio-Tchané.
